Brown/Trinity Updates

I recently finished up my first year of graduate school! I am the first mama to ever go through the Brown/Trinity MFA Acting program. This year has been challenging. The schedule is no joke. Our weeks are Monday-Saturday and our days, when in production, are typically 9a-9p. Without the support of my husband and my parents I’m not sure how I would be able to attend this program. I am eternally grateful for their support.

I found out I was pregnant with my second child while understudying A Christmas Carol at Trinity Repertory as part of my curricular duties. I performed a handful of times. So this baby, due in early August, has already had an opportunity to be on stage. To finish up the semester I performed in an adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew and Hamlet, named The Taming of Hamlet. This production was directed by, recent graduate of the directing program, Andrew Watring. During this production I was between my second and third trimesters of my pregnancy. This was my first time performing a show, a highly physical show, while REALLY pregnant. It was an experience I will never forget. When we had our final performance, I remember a great wave of feelings rush over me. I felt accomplished and proud, but also relieved that my body/and growing babe could take a breather for a bit.

It was a tremendous year of learning, bonding, and struggle. I did it all while raising a 2-year-old, the love of my life.

I will be taking the next year off from the program, but will be back in the Fall of 2024 to continue my studies!

A Christmas Carol at Trinity Repertory Theatre

Had the great pleasure of my first understudy role at Trinity Repertory Theatre. I understudied the Ghost of Christmas Past in the production directed by Aileen Wen McGroddy. I had the opportunity to perform for 7 shows total and got to perform stunts such as flying by harness and jumping into a pit. I learned a lot and can’t wait for the next understudy job!

Brown/Trinity MFA Acting Class of 2025

Finished my first semester as an MFA Acting Candidate at Brown/Trinity. This was my formal introduction into technique as I did not complete an undergrad program in acting. Alexander, Voice and Speech, Embodied Movement Classes, Scene Study… so exciting…and HARD. As the only mother to ever go through the program as an actor, I’m feeling the pressure. It’s not all rainbows and butterflies. Eternally grateful for the strongest family support system and a cohort of humans that have become family. (Cohort is pictured below celebrating my birthday at a bowling alley).

Kinsley Vs. Series in Production

I’m having an amazing time co-producing and co-starring in Queens Bird Film’s latest work, Kinsley Vs.

Set in post-pandemic New York City, Kinsley Vs. is a dark comedy about a 30-something woman whose anxious thoughts transform into six distinct characters, all of whom threaten to derail her life ambitions.

In October of 2021 we filmed the first three episodes of our web-series.

We will shoot the remaining four episodes in January 2022 with a release in either May or October of 2022.

This project was amazing to work on. I had the great pleasure of playing Olivia in Screen Test and it really was my favorite role to date. I met an amazing group of humans that I am continuing to keep in touch with and am currently working on my second project with Queens Bird Films (more to be announced shortly).
